Eskort is celebrating a major achievement after six of its products received recognition at both the 2026 Aurora International Taste Challenge and the South African Food & Beverage Awards.
The six products entered by the South African pork producer all received awards, resulting in 12 accolades across the two competitions.
Five products received Double Gold at both competitions, while a sixth product earned Gold at both.
Which Eskort products won?
The winning line-up includes a mix of pork cuts, convenience products and braai favourites:
Creamy Pepper Loin Chops – Double Gold at both competitions
Jalapeño Twisters – Double Gold at both
Pork Prego Steak – Double Gold at both
Premium Sliced Gammon – Double Gold at both
Premium Sliced Pork Pastrami – Double Gold at both
Pepperoni Griller – Gold at both
The recognition comes as South African consumers increasingly look for convenient meal options that can work across everything from quick weekday dinners to weekend braais.
Eskort CEO Arnold Prinsloo said the results reflect the company's focus on developing products around changing consumer tastes and eating habits.
"To have six products recognised twice by expert panels evaluating both local and international excellence is a powerful endorsement of the standards our teams work to every day," said Prinsloo.
From the braai to the dinner table
The award-winning range reflects how pork is increasingly being used in different types of meals, from traditional braai occasions to quick and convenient everyday dishes.
Eskort has been producing pork products in South Africa for 109 years and currently has a range of more than 300 products, including fresh pork, bacon, sausages, convenience products and its Kiddos range aimed at children aged three to 13.
The Aurora International Taste Challenge, now in its eighth year, brings food experts together to assess food and beverage products, while the South African Food & Beverage Awards recognise excellence within the local food industry.
For consumers, the awards provide another indication of how local food producers are continuing to innovate and develop products aimed at South African tastes.
